Charles E. "Ed" Short serves as president, chief executive officer and general manager of Covington Electric Cooperative in Andalusia, Alabama. He also leads its subsidiary, Covington Rural Services Corp., and Internet service provider AlaWeb. Mr. Short presently serves on the Andalusia Industrial Development Board, as a director for the Alabama Rural Electric Association and Alabama Electric Cooperative, and as chairman of the Covington County Economic Development Commission and Character@Heart. He has served as past chairman of the NRTC board, Alabama Electric Cooperative and of the Alabama Rural Electric Association. Mr. Short has also served on NRECA's research committee and the Energy Code Board of Alabama.
