On June 2, 2005, NRTC member Bijou Telephone Cooperative of Byers, Colorado, installed WildBlue service to the company's first customers, the Tuttle family of Strasburg, Colorado.

WildBlue was created with rural America in mind. It is ideal for homes that wouldn't have access to high-speed Internet otherwise.
